The Start of a Wild Ride
The story kicks off with Kimihiko Kimizuka, a guy cursed with the hilarious yet frustrating knack for always attracting trouble, constantly getting dragged into bizarre cases. His life completely changes when a gorgeous detective named Siesta recruits him to be her personal assistant.
For three glorious years, they traveled the globe, having the time of their lives while solving countless crimes. But their legendary run comes to a tragic end when Siesta is killed during an investigation into SPES—a shadowy syndicate of supernatural Pseudohumans.
The Endless Battle
A year after losing his partner, Kimihiko Kimizuka tries his absolute best to slide back into a normal high school life to heal from the trauma. But of course, his natural magnet for trouble pulls him right back into a brand-new, mind-boggling case.
This case drags him straight back into the war against SPES, a faction filled with supernatural Pseudohumans. Everything is intricately linked to a mysterious assassin, a global conspiracy, and the lingering shadow of his late partner.
A Beautifully Bizarre Connection
The characters in this story are incredibly vibrant, with intricately woven relationships. The standout is Nagisa Natsunagi, a girl who received Siesta's transplanted heart, creating a beautifully poetic link between the past and the present.
The introduction of friends like Yui Saikawa and Charlotte Arisaka Anderson adds wonderful variety and flavor to the narrative. Standing by Kimihiko Kimizuka's side, they bring a perfect mix of hilarious banter and tear-jerking, emotional moments.
