Gleaming Facade in the City

The story offers a quiet yet captivating look at legendary beings living quietly within a modern metropolis. This particular apartment isn't meant for ordinary mortals, but rather serves as a gathering place for entities of extraordinary power.

Every resident here wears a dazzling identity to mask their true nature. Some are shining stars at the very top of the entertainment industry, while others are billionaires pulling the strings of the economy.

The intersection of the supernatural and everyday life creates an atmosphere that feels both grounded and surreal. Watching how these monsters adapt to human technology and laws brings plenty of charm and humor to the table.

The Painter and the Soul of Art

The protagonist Gu Bai comes across as a gentle and somewhat shy painter. Beneath that quiet exterior lies a fierce resilience and an unwavering dedication to holding his very own solo exhibition.

What makes Gu Bai truly unique is his true form as a stone, an existence of silent endurance across the ages. He is the only modern-day monster capable of creating spiritual paintings.

His works aren't just colors splashed on canvas; they pack a punch that directly influences human emotions. This rare gift turns a humble muralist into a key player when supernatural trouble starts brewing.

The Guardian Beast and Wealth

By his side stands Si Yiming, a powerhouse known to the world as a financial crocodile. Beneath his corporate titan facade, he is actually a mythical beast, specifically a Pixiu carrying noble dragon blood.

A Pixiu is naturally drawn to gathering and hoarding wealth, while also pulling double duty as the house-guarding beast for the entire building. His fierce decisiveness provides the perfect balance to Gu Bai's softer nature.

Their relationship blossoms naturally through everyday interactions inside the apartment complex. This connection goes far beyond a simple romance, carrying immense weight for the survival of the world itself.

Extraordinary Neighbors

The supporting cast living around our main duo is a standout feature you simply cannot ignore. You'll run into a sharp-tongued News Queen who actually hails from a vibrant animated realm.

Alongside her is a veteran Movie Star who turns out to be a spellbinding fox spirit. Other recurring faces like the Golden Lawyer and the Supermodel add even more flavor to the story's ecosystem.

They are more than just neighbors; they are the pieces that make this monster society feel wonderfully diverse. Their banter and mutual support lend genuine depth to the overall backdrop of the tale.

The Bright Sides

The Shortcomings

• The plot plays it safe, lacking truly shocking twists or high-stakes drama.
• Certain conflict resolutions feel a bit too contrived, leaving the challenges lacking in emotional depth.
• Fun supporting characters sometimes get sidelined without enough room to flex their full potential.
• The ending, while neat, might leave readers craving a bit more grit or edge.

Community Reception

• Novel Updates: 4.0/5.0 (121 ratings as of 05/10/2026). Quick verdict: quite enjoyable, not groundbreaking, but a solid pick for light entertainment.

Final Thoughts

This is a gentle, healing journey told through the eyes of an artist whose true form is part of nature. The novel succeeds in painting a world where the greatest power sometimes stems from empathetic brushstrokes. While it lacks world-shattering battles, the value of saving the world through art leaves behind a lingering, beautiful aftertaste.

In short: A Danmei piece featuring a well-balanced superpower system, ideal for anyone looking to unwind with warm hues and peace of mind.
