An Intriguing, Paradoxical Start

The story kicks off with Feng Ning waking up after a nasty fall, completely stripped of her memories. Contradicting her reputation as a scheming and selfish woman, she is now polite and thoroughly genuine. This stark contrast sets up a compelling hook that immediately draws readers in.

She has to navigate the cold treatment from those around her due to her past reputation. Her quest to find herself begins with her own skepticism about the rumors surrounding her past.

Growth on Both Sides

The relationship between Feng Ning and her husband, Long San, serves as the emotional core of the novel. Initially, he treats her with cold indifference and harshness after three years of a loveless marriage. Her sincerity slowly chips away at this playboy husband's icy exterior.

In addition, the presence of their daughter, Bao'er, along with his two older brothers, Long Dai and Long Er, adds rich layers to the family dynamic. They act as both witnesses and catalysts for the shift in the leads' relationship. He gradually becomes gentler and seeks to win his wife back.

A Balance of Mystery and Humor

The novel has a distinct wuxia flavor blended with lighthearted entertainment. Readers will chuckle at the female lead's bottomless appetite and her sudden, surprising displays of martial arts skills. These elements are cleverly woven into the overarching mystery of her forgotten past.

Her journey to recover her memories is far from depressing; instead, it is packed with hilarious, bittersweet moments. Her blunt honesty clashes delightfully with her husband's scheming nature, leading to highly entertaining interactions.

Highlights

Downsides to Consider
