A Ghostly Marriage Full of Laughs and Tears
Born with a "bad luck magnet" constitution that’s made his life a nightmare since childhood, Lu Yingjiu finally grit his teeth and agreed to a ghost marriage on the advice of an elder. He thought he was signing up for a date with a beautiful female ghost, but who would have guessed his new spouse would be a lonely ghost with a totally mysterious past?
Clutching a longevity lock as a token of their otherworldly bond, he leaves the Exorcist League to strike out on his own. Just when things seem to be going smoothly, a wave of supernatural chaos hits, followed by the appearance of the incredibly handsome Lord of the Underworld showing up to claim his rights as a husband!
Opposing Powers and Character Dynamics
The author crafts an urban spiritual world where exorcist professionals use talisman techniques and magic to suppress ghosts and purify yin energy. While Lu Yingjiu is the quiet, calm, and collected type, his sensory abilities are off the charts, making him a true top exorcist among mortals.
On the other side, we have Jing Xian, the Ghost King who holds ultimate power in the Underworld. He might have a bit of a temper, but this Lord of the Underworld is absolutely head-over-heels, constantly protecting and pampering his beloved through every dangerous twist and turn.
A Perfect Blend of Spookiness and Romance
Spanning 111 chapters, the story keeps a great pace—not too rushed, but captivating enough to keep you hooked through every case. The scenes investigating supernatural phenomena are just creepy enough to give you chills without being over the top, creating a super-engaging atmosphere of mystery.
The real highlight is how the romance is woven into their journey of uncovering the past. The exorcist's level-headed logic mixed with his ghost husband’s sheer indulgence makes for some seriously hilarious and sweet moments.
