A Sweet Twist of Fate

Have you ever wondered what would happen if the female protagonist of an angsty novel received absolute protection right from early childhood? Instead of enduring tear-jerk tragedies, this little girl is raised by a one-of-a-kind mother.

That is the delightful and heartwarming story in the work by author Mộc Niệm Chi. With an ultra-short length of just 29 chapters, the novel brings a completely refreshing breeze to a genre typically filled with heartbreak.

By completely rewriting the character's starting point, the author skillfully turns a dark, angst-filled tale into an adorable healing journey. Would you like to step into a world where maternal love and futuristic technology intertwine?

The Special Mother Code Number

Everything begins when System 5874 takes on the mission to help the orphan girl Xu Youyou escape a tragic fate. To easily approach and nurture her starting from the age of three at the orphanage, this entity decides to lie and claim to be her deceased mother.

This well-intentioned lie opens up a parenting journey filled with love and patience. The warmth of a system mother protects the little girl's fragile soul from the hardships of life.

Thanks to the special upbringing from the system mother, the little girl develops an extremely sharp and unique mindset. Life lessons are no longer empty theories but practical tools that help her become independent at a very early age.

How My Mother Says Works

Under her mother's dedicated guidance, Xu Youyou grows into an extremely filial and obedient girl. Her favorite catchphrase is always "my mother says..." to handle every tricky situation in daily life.

The most interesting part is how her interpretation of advice always leans in an extremely practical and humorous direction. She never follows instructions blindly, instead turning those teachings into weapons to protect herself.

This creates a charming contrast between a child's innocent soul and modern survival philosophies. Can you help but smile when witnessing how she uses that advice to turn the tables?

Unexpected Growth

It is this unique way of thinking that helps her avoid the miserable traps set by the destiny of an angst-ridden female lead. After fifteen years of deep sleep due to depleted energy, System 5874 wakes up and is astonished by her daughter's remarkable growth.

Upon waking, the system mother no longer sees the timid little girl from the orphanage of the past. Instead, Xu Youyou is now enjoying an extremely prosperous and free life thanks to her own intelligence.

Her classic quote upon growing up—that the easiest money to make in this world comes from an infatuated person—proves her shrewdness. She has completely taken charge of her own life, no longer a pawn for anyone to manipulate.

This role reversal brings a deeply refreshing feeling to anyone exhausted by the trope of the submissive female lead. This is truly a direct slap in the face to the unfair laws of destiny.

Outstanding Strengths

A Few Regrets

• The story's length is too short, leaving some details without deep exploration.
• Supporting characters and the surrounding background do not truly stand out because the focus is mainly on the mother-daughter duo.
• The pacing in the final phase feels a bit rushed, reducing the emotional depth of the work.
