Starting by Letting Go
Shen Yanming's past life was a streak of regrets, his natural talent buried under a sudden accident and betrayal from his teammates. Offered a second chance, he skips the fiery revenge trope and decides to live a carefree, lazy life instead. It makes for a refreshing opening to this e-sports novel.
He creates an account named I'm Causing Chaos Again and streams casually to make ends meet. Fate, however, refuses to let real talent stay buried, effortlessly handing him the glory that once eluded him. His journey from a burnout to a new king feels natural and engaging.
The Appeal of Opposites
Pairing Shen Yanming with legendary player Kong Shen creates a great balance. A playful, mischievous assassin pitted against a stern, aloof healer makes for entertaining banter every match. This delightful contrast keeps both game matches and slice-of-life scenes fresh.
Their dynamic goes beyond simple teamwork; they share a quiet understanding rooted in past-life scars. The double rebirth twist is woven naturally, allowing them to recognize each other's worth quickly without unnecessary drama. Kong Shen's reserved nature steadily thaws under his partner's playful flirtation.
A Realistic Virtual Arena
The in-game setting is remarkably detailed, grounded in clear and logical mechanics. Matches are tense, and tactical synergy between assassin and healer shows real depth rather than cheap power fantasy. It's easy to get drawn into the high-stakes tension of authentic professional tournaments.
Kong Shen's presence as the number one healer on the Chinese server elevates the entire roster. Clutch saves and seamless teamwork with Shen Yanming yield memorable, high-intensity clashes. I particularly appreciated how well the author handles the frenzied pacing of matches.
Rise of a new king
Shen Yanming's return to the top rests on more than raw talent—it's forged by past experience. Letting go of his former baggage inadvertently frees his mindset, making him far more composed and confident. Consequently, every match he plays becomes tremendously entertaining to follow.
His growth shines through every game, from casual rank games to major tournaments. Kong Shen's quiet, unwavering backup provides the solid anchor he needs to shine under pressure. Complementing each other perfectly, they form an unbeatable duo.
