Prelude in the Shadows

The world shifts as chaos gathers, signaling the stormy rebirth of the next Demon King. Amidst ruined ashes and the cries of an attack from a demon, fate leads the gentle librarian Nemo Light to meet the seme Oliver Ramon on a desolate road.

Tenderness unexpectedly seeps into a life-or-death moment when Nemo Light saves Oliver Ramon, inadvertently forming a strange contract with a mysterious creature. Returning to their old home, they find their beloved town engulfed in crimson flames, facing cruel accusations from the Church of being demon worshippers.

Forced to take on the mantle of battle-worn mercenaries to survive, they set out together on an adventure filled with unexpected turns. Deep secrets regarding their true identities slowly unfold beneath a dreamy, nostalgic Western fantasy atmosphere.

The Charm of Contrasting Souls

The uke Nemo Light appears as a serene librarian with a gentle and kind demeanor, yet deep down he is profoundly sincere and steadfast. Becoming a mage against his will following a tragic turn of events, he carries a major secret about his true identity, keeping readers endlessly intrigued through every page.

Accompanying him across countless miles is the seme Oliver Ramon, a loyal and gentle knight holding fast to the hope of finding his missing father, Piper Ramon. That fateful bond ties him closely to Nemo Light with a deep emotional thread that grows stronger through years of hardship.

The sweet, subtle emotional progression between these two ordinary souls is woven with immense warmth and natural grace. They are not merely comrades fighting side-by-side through life and death, but also a peaceful harbor, soothing each other's wounds in a world fraught with danger and turmoil.

Companions Along the Endless Journey

Along their journey spanning new lands, the author skillfully weaves fateful encounters with truly unique companions. First among them is Bagelmaurus, a hilarious self-proclaimed High Demon parrot who accidentally formed a strange contract with Nemo Light.

Then comes the fierce heroine Ann Savage, a valiant, resilient, and headstrong warrior from the prestigious Black Chapter. In addition, there is the contemplative Adrian Cross, a quiet man devoted to Zenni despite having lost all of his original power.

Every supporting character met along the way serves not merely as a backdrop, but actively propels the profound growth of the main duo. Together, they unravel bizarre mysteries in the towns they pass through, weaving an adventure both grand and filled with heartwarming affection.
