World and Power System
The work opens up a refreshing world, taking readers along the journey of an outsider. The intersection of technological civilization and mystical power creates a unique appeal for this story. Here, individual strength is determined by the nature of the Yuan Soul that each person awakens.
The cultivation system is clearly divided from One-Star to Nine-Star Yuan Soul down to unrated remnant souls. The evolutionary process of soul beasts, such as the White Mountain Cat into the White Tiger or the Phantom Fox into the Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox, is highly engaging. It establishes a clear and consistent combat system throughout the long narrative.
The Survivor's Grit
The protagonist Wang Sheng is an elite sniper bearing the proud moniker of Lone Wolf. The grit of a battle-hardened soldier from Earth allows him to maintain his composure before any dangerous foe. Though starting with an Unranked/Remnant Yuan Soul, a seemingly useless carp remnant soul, he remains undeterred.
He leverages his past-life scientific knowledge to steadily pursue the path of the carp leaping over the Dragon Gate. Utilizing firearms like the pistol and rifle alongside modern martial arts helps him overcome countless adversities. His ascension to the Eighth-Fold Realm stands as a testament to his extraordinary will to survive.
Relationships
The supporting cast surrounding the protagonist is well-developed, each with distinct personalities and significant influence. Key female figures, such as Song Yan with her Ice Turtle or the death soldier Ah Qi, bring a wide range of emotions. Their relationships grow through life-and-death trials and a fated bond.
The appearances of Mi'er from Baoqing Street or Rose in Wuyou City add intrigue to the story. Meanwhile, allies like Daoist Ling Xu or Lu Wenhou of the Baoqing Yu Hall provide invaluable support, helping him secure the prestigious title of Marquis of Constant Victory.

Flaws to Consider
However, the work is not without its limitations, which might prevent discerning readers from being fully satisfied. These minor flaws occasionally detract from the story's natural appeal.
- The overreliance on firearms in the later stages diminishes the magical nature of the fantasy world.
- An excessive number of female characters can easily create a sense of a complicated harem, diluting the main plot.
- Certain plot points near the end are resolved too hastily, falling short of the grand scale established in the massive world-building.
