A Rather Twisted Homecoming

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to wake up from the dead, only to find yourself trapped in a completely different body? Well, that's exactly how life starts over for Su Ru Hui, a notorious Class A criminal of the Kunlun Secret Sect.

Five years after succumbing to illness, his soul transmigrates into the body of Jiang Que Xie. Talk about a twist of fate—his new identity is none other than the husband of his sworn enemy from his past life.

That accidental husband is Sang Chi Yu, the genius head disciple of the Kunlun Secret Sect. Honestly, would you be able to keep your cool if you suddenly had to face the very man who used to hunt you down relentlessly?

The Genius's Tragic Fall

While Su Ru Hui approaches his rebirth with a pretty carefree, rogue-like attitude, Sang Chi Yu's state will absolutely break your heart. Once a legendary martial arts genius, he is now crippled, having lost the use of his right leg.

His body is covered in painful whip marks, and his cold, detached exterior only hides a deeply wounded soul. Don't you find yourself wondering what on earth happened to drag a proud sect leader down to such a tragic state?

The contrast between a clever, somewhat rogueish Su Ru Hui and a distant, socially awkward Sang Chi Yu creates an incredibly magnetic dynamic. Their relationship is no longer just about past grudges, but has evolved into a silent, deep devotion.

A Unique Twist on the system

Unlike typical fantasy stories, this novel doesn't focus on endless cultivation to achieve immortality. Instead, a mysterious system steps in to guide our main lead.

Su Ru Hui has to complete various mission tasks to unlock special privileges. You'll love watching him use his sharp wit to piece together the puzzles surrounding their shared past.

It's this very system that stitches together his fragmented memories, helping him uncover the painful truth behind Sang Chi Yu's scars. Slowly but surely, the dark secrets of the Kunlun Secret Sect are unraveled in the most dramatic way.

Deep, Captivating Characters

The biggest strength of this novel is how deeply and consistently the characters are developed. You can't help but admire Su Ru Hui—even though he's labeled a criminal, he is incredibly strong-willed and decisive.

Instead of seeking blind revenge, he chooses to heal his former enemy, who is now his husband. His cheeky, shameless, and free-spirited nature acts as the perfect antidote to his partner's frozen heart.

Meanwhile, Sang Chi Yu will win you over with his profound, quiet love, despite his cold facade. The inner conflict between duty and personal feelings is beautifully and delicately portrayed by author Dương Tố.

What Makes It Worth Reading

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

• The pacing can feel a bit slow at times during flashbacks or when explaining the mechanics of the system.
• Certain plotlines involving the Kunlun Secret Sect can get a bit heavy and dark, given the physical and emotional trauma the characters endure.

Final Verdict

Spanning a very manageable 107 chapters, this novel delivers an incredibly satisfying emotional ride. You'll witness a love story that rises above prejudice and deep-seated grudges, all set against a mystical ancient backdrop.

At its heart, this isn't just a story about physical reincarnation, but a beautiful journey of healing fractured souls. It's truly a perfect read for those quiet nights when you want to dive into a story filled with warmth and a touch of suspense.
