Shadows Fall Upon the Hero
The story unfolds in a melancholic fantasy world where the pure light of heroism is choked out by the heavy haze of opium and strong wine. It carves a path that wanders far from the usual, cliché tales of world salvation.
Rather than saving the world with warmth and forgiveness, we are pulled deep into the velvety shadows of the underworld, a realm ruled by raw violence and gold. It offers a hauntingly beautiful yet cruel glimpse into the dark underbelly of a world glistening with magic.
A quiet sadness hangs over the night-swept streets, where magic is not a beacon of hope but a secret hidden in dark alleyways. There is a delicate dance between nostalgic longing and harsh reality, making every word feel like a drop of bittersweet rain.
The Soul of a mad hero
Our protagonist, Shouji, is a study in captivating contradictions. Though born with a divine yuusha talent, he willingly casts off his glorious destiny to live a slow, hazy life, drowning his days in liquor and substances.
The moniker of mad hero fits him perfectly; Shouji never hesitates to crush his enemies with cold, calculating violence. His ruthless resolve lends an irresistible charm to his character, crafting a beautifully flawed anti-hero.
He cares nothing for fleeting glory or the empty praise of the masses. Every step he takes is meticulously planned, paid for in blood and terror, all to carve his name into the heart of the underworld.
A Kingdom Born in the Dark
The embers of Shouji's quiet life are fanned into flames when he crosses paths with Percibell, a brilliant but debt-ridden alchemist. The elixirs she brews are of breathtaking purity, possessing a devastatingly addictive allure.
Sensing a golden opportunity, Shouji quickly transforms her creations into a highly lucrative contraband in the criminal underworld. Driven by the pursuit of wealth, he gathers loyal followers to build his own gang, ready to defy the lurking demons.
Amidst the struggle for power, a gentle thread of a harem romance weaves through his bond with Percibell and other captivating women. These soft, romantic moments breathe warmth into the story, softening the cold edges of this crime-ridden world.
