When the Cambrian Catastrophe Hits

Our beautiful Earth is suddenly tossed into total chaos as the Cambrian Period makes a brutal comeback, knocking humanity off its feet. Every creature on the planet starts an evolution frenzy at breakneck speed, ruthlessly kicking us humans off our high horse at the top of the food chain.

In this dangerous apocalypse, there's absolutely no room for dreamers or weaklings! With countless aggressive mutant monsters popping up everywhere, people have to adapt incredibly fast unless they want to end up as a tasty snack.

A Match Made in Survival Heaven

A massive highlight for me is the main couple—they're adorable but tough as nails. Our boy Cong Xia might be gentle and kind with a very cautious personality, but don't let that fool you; he’s got a brilliant brain and is a total pro at tech, cooking, and even sewing.

By his side is Cheng Tianbi, a cold and stoic special forces soldier with a rock-solid physique and survival instincts that are sharp as a razor. Combining Cong Xia's genius mind with Cheng Tianbi's raw brawn is honestly a perfectly balanced pairing that just works.

Comrades and Curiosities

This brutal survival journey would definitely lose some of its punch without the help of some seriously valuable companions. We get to meet the super-smart Zhuang Yao, who’s always coming up with plans to save the team, and the incredibly talented Tang Tingzhi, who makes quite an entrance.

The team has to stick together, constantly undergoing evolution to deal with lurking dangers while trying to crack the code behind the disaster. Mixing non-stop adventure with unique science fiction discoveries creates a gripping plot that’ll keep you hooked from start to finish.

The Good Stuff

• The idea of an apocalypse triggered by the weird awakening of the historical Cambrian Period is so fresh and unique, with some really impressive biological theory depth that'll blow your mind.
• The development of the deep affection and sincere bond between Cong Xia and Cheng Tianbi is written so naturally and warmly; it never feels forced or rushed.
• The side characters are exceptionally well-crafted, especially folks like Zhuang Yao or Tang Tingzhi, who get plenty of screen time and play crucial roles in the story.
• Those battles against massive, aggressive mutant creatures are described so vividly—they're pure heart-pounding action for anyone following the journey.
• The way the author dives into the global biological mysteries keeps you curious and excited, making this fictional world feel incredibly real and logical.

A Few Nitpicks

• Clocking in at 363 chapters plus a huge chunk of side stories, the pacing occasionally drags a bit during the transitions between life-and-death battles.
• The author's super detailed explanations of tech or biological evolution might feel a tad dry if you're just here for the non-stop action.
• The power gaps at certain points might leave those of you looking for an instantly overpowered protagonist feeling a bit underwhelmed at first.
• Some side characters who show up later on don't get as much deep exploration as some readers might have hoped for.
