When a 6'5" Mega-Fan Chases His Idol

Some people stan their idols by buying albums, but others are so "forward-thinking" they've already checked out same-sex marriage laws just in case their idol proposes. That would be Fei Chang, a 6'5" manga artist with a vivid imagination. He ends up diving into the entertainment industry in a way no one saw coming.

A once-in-a-lifetime chance pops up when he gets to join a variety show alongside his ultimate crush. From there, it's pure chaos as this giant fanboy desperately tries to play it cool and hide his inner stan while standing right in front of his idol.

The Giraffe and the Elegant Antelope

Our protagonist Fei Chang is often compared to a "Bambi giraffe"—towering in height but incredibly innocent and adorable at heart. This award-winning artist has his "chaotic" moments that are as relatable as they are hilarious. His genuine, slightly dorky charm is the biggest hook that keeps readers glued to the page throughout the story.

On the other side is Chen Yue Yang, a top-tier star standing 6'1" and described as a captivating, long-legged "Tibetan antelope." He’s not just a pretty face; he's famous for his signature Mongolian dance skills. Supporting them is manager Jing Jiren, who’s basically always one headache away from a breakdown thanks to the duo's antics.

A Vibrant Take on Showbiz

Unlike many other novels, the showbiz setting here isn't full of dark backstabbing or toxic schemes. Instead, the author paints a bright, fun picture where artists compete with actual talent and highly entertaining variety shows.

The details about life as a manga artist and the production process of a TV show are woven in quite cleverly. It makes the world of the novel feel grounded and relatable for modern readers.

Highlights of the Lighthearted Comedy

• The adorable height difference between the two main characters makes for some seriously cute visuals.
• Fei Chang is such a unique character—part intense fanboy, part talented manga artist.
• The sweet, funny, and high-energy interactions between the main couple are a joy to read.
• The author's smooth prose and witty storytelling style make for an easy, breezy read from start to finish.

A Few Rushed Moments

• At just 32 chapters, it's a bit too short, leaving some details feeling a little underdeveloped.
• The protagonist's rise in the entertainment industry feels a tad too fast and convenient.
• It lacks major plot twists or high-stakes challenges that would add more depth to the story.
