Unique Concept

Imagine holding the honorable title of senior brother at Xiao Shan Feng, only to actually be a lazy-to-the-bone transmigration slacker while your junior disciples are all closet monsters. Standing in a "leadership" position while stuck at mere ninth-layer Qi Refining is truly fate's idea of a cruel joke.

This utter mismatch creates a hilarious premise that presents quite the challenge for our protagonist Ou Yang. To avoid getting left in the dust and to protect his sect, he has no choice but to boot up his special cheat system. The combination of his shameless personality and fraudulent tools makes for a wildly entertaining ride.

The plot initially focuses on slice-of-life days at Xiao Shan Feng before sweeping into the grand schemes of the immortal cultivation world. The author cleverly turns familiar tropes into an unpredictable chessboard. Good luck guessing the next move of someone with a mind as bizarre as his.

Overpowered Cast

Ou Yang is hardly your righteous hero; he is shameless, lazy, and delightfully unpredictable. Instead of grinding away at cultivation, he activates his system to cultivate automatically and inspect others' stats just to keep his cool around a lineup of monster peers. Yet, beneath it all, he remains fiercely dedicated to protecting his juniors.

The supporting cast consists of genuine big shots everyone dreads crossing. Second junior brother Leng Qingsong is a child of the plane with extraordinary sword talent at seventh-stage Golden Core, who also suffers from severe social anxiety. This pairing turns everyday conversations into deliciously awkward disasters.

Then there is third junior brother Chen Changsheng, carrying vengeful memories of a rebirth, and fourth junior brother Bai Feiyu, an ancient Sword Immortal reincarnation. Rounding out the crew is the youngest junior sister Hu Tutu, an infant Nine-Tailed Sky Fox and future Empress of the Demon race.

Major Highlights

• A unique character setup that essentially turns side characters into the protagonists of rival web novels.
• Witty yet heartwarming banter between Ou Yang and his juniors under their master Hu Yun's guidance.
• Great handling of brotherhood and the senior brother's silent sacrifices to protect his pack.
• Power levels spanning from Qi Refining and Foundation Establishment to Golden Core are naturally integrated through character actions.

Minor Drawbacks

• Romance is sidelined entirely in favor of brotherhood, which might disappoint romance-seeking readers.
• Ou Yang's lazy, shameless nature occasionally slows the narrative pacing during mundane slice-of-life segments.
• Initial world-building centers on a small sect, so the grand scale doesn't immediately blow up out of the gate.

Best For

• Those skipping heavy romantic drama to focus on pure, heartwarming brotherhood.

Final Verdict

The novel delivers a breath of fresh air to comedic xuanhuan thanks to its wildly overpowered supporting cast. Despite occasional lulls, the bond between the members of Xiao Shan Feng remains the main anchor keeping readers hooked. The author crafts a cozy little family amid the chaotic tides of immortal cultivation.

Ou Yang's journey to shield these future powerhouses guarantees plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. It is a solid pick for anyone seeking a long, quality comedic read. Just prepare yourself for some unbelievable plot twists served up by this senior brother.

In short: A delightfully unique comedic xianxia story where a shameless senior brother relies on cheats just to avoid being left behind by his ridiculously overpowered juniors.
