First Impressions

A bitter beginning unfolds as the protagonist, Wang Yuan, is ruthlessly deceived by a foreign world system. Not only is he brutally murdered, but his Protagonist Halo is also completely stripped away the moment he reincarnates into the new world.

His residual soul merges with the mutated germs festering on his own corpse to survive. From the depths of despair and gloom, the malevolent entity known as Negary is born, beginning a journey of spreading sheer terror.

The novel belongs to the dark fantasy genre mixed with horror, bringing a dark and uniquely refreshing breath of air to readers. The narrative is gripping right from the first chapters, thanks to its unconventional character design.

Characters and Manipulation

Negary is by no means the heroic or righteous protagonist typical of web novels. He completely lacks a True Spirit, having lost all humanity to become a ruthless soul virus-like entity.

His sole motivation is seeking absolute power and conquering the path to becoming a God. He is a master of psychological manipulation, willing to turn any living creature and the surrounding environment into mere chess pieces without being hindered by conventional morality.

Alongside Negary, subordinates like Comoros or Darr are also relatively well-portrayed. They play their roles as capable minions, helping him extend his reach and spread his influence across multiple worlds.

The power system Design

The novel constructs a highly rigorous and profound power system from the ground up. Readers will follow this entity's continuous power accumulation and evolution through several specific stages:

• 0 Stage: A normal Human with no supernatural abilities.
• Pseudo-Release: Residual souls or evil spirits that gain supernatural powers after death.
• 1st Stage: Beginning to possess minor supernatural powers through Origin or Principles.
• 2nd Stage: A second burst of Origin, gaining more Principles and becoming significantly stronger.
• 3rd Stage: Beginning to touch the threshold of a God in the late phase.
• 4th Stage: Pathway Entities – divine entities that have fully manifested their own pathways.
• 5th Stage: Nodes – the accumulation and convergence of multiple Principles and Truths.
• 6th Stage: Ascenders – the current level of the protagonist, ranked just below the supreme tier.
• 7th Stage: Flux Pluckers – the absolute pinnacle of the entire Multiverse.

Pros

• The work successfully crafts a smart, ruthless, and consistent villain protagonist from start to finish.
• The world-building and the detailed leveling system are highly logical and incredibly creative.
• The elements of psychological manipulation and mind games are portrayed with sharp, dramatic, and captivating precision.
• The pacing remains steady, maintaining excellent quality throughout its completed 750 chapters.

Cons

• The cast of characters completely lacks human warmth, which might alienate readers who prefer emotional connection.
• The gloomy atmosphere and violent elements may make sensitive readers uncomfortable.
• The novel features many specialized terms, requiring readers to pay close attention.

Community Reception

• Webnovel: 4.7/5 (over 3.3K reviews) at the time of writing, with highly positive comments on the unique plot, the smart villain protagonist, and the outstanding world-building.
