An Unexpected Start

This engaging novel by author Ảnh Chiếu offers an unexpected and delightful ride, following Gu Qing Qiao, a highly energetic 21st-century girl. Originally a star track-and-field athlete named Qi Chun Jiao, she finds herself in a bizarre predicament after accidentally time traveling back to the ancient past. This sudden shift completely upends her once-peaceful life.

In this unfamiliar world, she must adapt to life as an ordinary wine seller in an ancient setting brimming with novelty. Her humble dream of becoming a refined lady and finding true love is quickly tested by the tumultuous reality of jianghu. A barrage of comical, bittersweet situations leaves her constantly scrambling to cope.

Fated Encounters

The story's greatest charm lies in how the author crafts the unique relationships between the main characters across two different eras. The female lead unexpectedly reunites with familiar faces from her past life—her childhood friend Duan Yu and her best friend Lu Zi Zheng—now living under completely new identities. This strange twist of fate drags them all into unforeseen complications.

The arrival of these two men brings not only a sense of familiarity but also weaves intricate and subtle emotional bonds among the characters. Furthermore, her reliable companion Ruan Si Qiong, a talented doctor from her former sports team, plays a key role in keeping the group together. Together, they share their burdens and come to deeply understand the true value of companionship.

A Journey into the jianghu

Rather than exhausting and brain-draining palace power struggles, the narrative focuses on the young group's challenging quest for treasure. Journeying through unfamiliar territories, they face lurking dangers from hidden enemies while working through their deepest personal conflicts. Every step of their journey teaches them valuable lessons about trust.

Notably, the book eschews the typical cultivation systems and fantastical power levels in favor of grounded, realistic martial arts. Survival in the treacherous jianghu depends entirely on personal capability, sharp wits, and seamless teamwork. This approach offers a refreshingly authentic and grounded experience for fans of traditional wuxia.
