The Rebirth of the Last Days and Return to Fang Hao

In his previous life, He Zizhong swallowed the bitterest pill of fate when he was backstabbed by both his lover and his relatives. Not only was he stripped of his precious storage space, but he was also driven into a corner and left to meet a gruesome end in the jaws of a ravenous zombie.

It was only in his final, agonizing moments that he realized Fang Hao—his high school junior—was the only one who remained loyal to his very last breath. Luckily, the cosmic gears reset, giving him a golden ticket of a rebirth right before the apocalypse breaks out.

Review of The Rebirth of the Last Days and Return to Fang Hao

Stepping into his second chance, He Zizhong wastes no time crying over spilled milk; instead, he immediately sets out to stockpile resources and track down Fang Hao. He is armed with a highly practical special ability combo: the versatile Wind Element and a powerhouse Strength Enhancement.

On top of that, securing his storage space gives them a cozy, mobile safe haven right in the middle of societal collapse. Their end-of-the-world squad is made even livelier by Tuanzi, a zombie cat who doubles as a pampered pet and a top-tier comic relief sidekick.

Love in the Ruins

Despite the looming danger of endless level-one zombie hordes, the novel maintains a delightfully breezy pace. The relationship between He Zizhong and Fang Hao flourishes into a rock-solid, incredibly sweet partnership.

Fang Hao's past-life sacrifice is handsomely rewarded with He Zizhong's absolute, unconditional pampering. Together, they fight side-by-side, level up, and ruthlessly crush every traitor beneath their heels without skipping a beat.

Why You'll Love It

• A sweet, fiercely loyal romance with absolutely zero frustrating, soap-opera misunderstandings.
• The clever mix of special ability and storage space creates a survival vibe that has just the right amount of stakes while remaining incredibly cozy.
• The highly unique sidekick Tuanzi delivers some seriously lighthearted and hilarious moments.
• A swift, satisfying revenge arc that leaves you feeling incredibly gratified and vindicated.

A Few Minor Nitpicks

• The mid-story pacing gets a bit too peaceful, lacking those high-stakes, explosive showdowns you might expect.
• The antagonists from the previous life are dealt with a bit too easily, never truly creating any breathtaking, edge-of-your-seat tension.
• The constant grinding, leveling up, and hoarding can feel repetitive, which might cause action junkies to lose a bit of steam.
