The Small Attic and The Mysterious World

If you think detectives have to be slick gentlemen or tough cops, this series will blow your mind with how wild it is. The main setting revolves around a room full of computers on the second floor of a ramen shop, which is the dwelling place of Alice. She is a true hikikomori, who only likes hugging stuffed animals, drinking soda, and self-proclaiming as a NEET detective.

The contrast between Alice's petite, frail appearance and her genius intellect is a captivating highlight. She doesn't need to go outside yet holds all the information of the city in the palm of her hand. This is an extremely interesting setup, turning those considered "unemployed" into the silent heroes of the shadows.

The story doesn't just stop at trivial school troubles. It ventures into terrifying dark areas like organized crime or complex drugs rings. Every case that opens up makes readers marvel at the news-gathering ability of this special squad.

The Dynamic Duo of assistant and Detective

Our main character is Narumi Fujishima, a student who was originally living a truly "invisible" life. Due to frequently transferring schools, he chooses to isolate himself to avoid the pain of parting ways. But destiny leads him to meet Ayaka Shinozaki and then gets dragged straight into the strange detective's world.

The journey from a pessimist to becoming Alice's capable assistant is a spectacular transformation. Narumi Fujishima is not just an errand boy; he is also the only bridge helping Alice touch the real world. He gradually learns how to cherish relationships and uses his judgment to solve problems.

The title God Hand that everyone gives him is not for nothing. His superb computer skills along with drawing and playing mahjong abilities have helped him a lot in the process of providing backup. His decisiveness at crucial moments is the key to untangling all knots extremely dramatically.

The Squad of the Outsiders

The greatness of the story is that it builds a tremendously lively and deep supporting character system. We have Yondaime, a prominent leader in the underworld circles but with a heart full of loyalty. His presence brings a powerful gust of wind, helping protect the group from perils of the underground world.

Next are indispensable pieces like Major, an expert in military equipment and information technology. Or Tetsu, who is always ready to charge forward with admirable physical strength. Each of them is a NEET, each harboring inner wounds that make them choose a life different from the majority.

Both Hiro with his ability to gather news from females and the sharp-tongued yet kind landlady Min also contribute to creating a shared home. They not only solving cases together but also warm up each other's lonely souls. This exact bond creates an atmosphere of the story that is both mysterious and immensely warm.

Reader's Perspective

For those who like the deduction genre, this is definitely a fantastic spiritual food. You will be immersed in tense yet emotionally charged wits-battles. Conversely, if you are looking for a story with non-stop fighting or an overpowered power system, you should probably reconsider.

The character Alice and the bond with Narumi Fujishima are the soul of the entire work. It reminds us that, even in the darkest corners, friendship and understanding can still sprout. A story worth savoring on rainy afternoons, pensive and thought-provoking.

In short: This is an excellent psychological mystery work, honoring intellect and human values hidden beneath the facade of those considered "failures" in society.
