A Heart-Wrenching, Lingering Love
The story opens with a sudden fracture of fate as the female secretary Jiang Xichu passes away unjustly after a heated argument with her boss. Wandering the underworld, she harbors immense resentment, believing her cold-hearted general manager Chen Man had treated her with utter indifference.
But returning to the mortal world as a wandering ghost, Jiang Xichu witnesses a completely different picture. The boss she once resented is quietly cradling her urn, wasting away from guilt and falling into a deep depression before finally choosing to end her own life.
The Contrast Between Light and Shadow
The emotional shift unfolds softly as Jiang Xichu is given a second chance, a rebirth into the past. Once again, she stands before a flesh-and-blood Chen Man, who hides a fragile, wounded heart beneath a proud, haughty exterior.
The true charm of the story lies in how it peels back the delicate layers of hidden emotions. A tsundere and slightly black-bellied soul like Jiang Xichu slowly comes to understand the quiet secrets, letting a tender love bloom from the ashes of healed misunderstandings.
