When a White Dragon Goes Domestic

We are all too familiar with epic immortal cultivation stories where mythical creatures rule from the pinnacle of power. However, this novel offers readers a completely reversed and incredibly unique perspective. Our main character, a legendary dragon, begins her next life in the most ironic way possible.

After being freed from the days of utter suffering in her past life, she thought she could finally rest in peace. Yet, fate plays a cruel joke on her as she is reincarnated once more—not in some distant immortal world, but dragged straight into the modern world, where towering skyscrapers replace sacred, wild mountain peaks.

To make matters worse, she must start her new life as a completely clueless full-time housewife. A proud creature who once ruled the vast skies is now reduced to managing mundane chores and taking care of a household. This extreme contrast serves as the perfect catalyst for hilariously chaotic situations.

The Clash of Opposites

The plot really picks up as the relationship between Jiang Yu and her savior, Chen Xiu'an, gradually unfolds. This guy is actually a transmigrator bound to a bizarre system, whose ultimate mission is to eliminate the dragon to return to his original world. Naturally, the two start off on completely opposite sides with conflicting goals.

However, a technical glitch in the system teleports both of them back to his modern world, with her stuck in her true dragon form. Instead of becoming a fearsome antagonist bent on taking revenge on the world, the dragon is bound to him as his destined girlfriend. This reluctant bond forces them to start living together under one roof.

A Wholesome and Entertaining Twist

What really impressed me was how adorable and vivid the characterization is. Despite constantly claiming she wants to be a terrifying antagonist out for revenge, Jiang Yu is deep down just a pitiful little dragon who easily melts under warm affection. Her attempts to look fierce only highlight her hilarious clumsiness as she tries to adapt to the human world.

As for the male lead, Chen Xiu'an finds himself in a tight spot due to his own special fondness for mythical dragons. The conflict between completing his system missions and protecting his beloved creates some incredibly sweet slice-of-life moments. Their relationship develops very naturally through cozy, everyday interactions.

Why You'll Love It

A Few Minor Drawbacks

• The rules governing the system are occasionally loose, and some technical glitches are not explained with satisfying logic.
• The pacing in some slice-of-life chapters can drag a bit, which might test the patience of readers who prefer high-stakes action.
• The supporting cast is somewhat underdeveloped, serving mostly as background props to highlight the main couple's sweet romance.
