Return of the Venom-Tongued Legend

The story kicks off with the domestic eSports scene plunged into dark times following a disastrous defeat at the world championship. The national team is an absolute hot mess—full of talented stars with egos way too big for their own good, and not a single one willing to back down.

Right when hope seems lost, the legendary coach nicknamed Wing agrees to step back in and steer the sinking ship. With his decisive working style and sharp, almost venomous critiques, he makes even the most arrogant players think twice before stepping out of line.

Jiang Shaowu doesn't resort to crude vulgarities to berate his players, but the way he tears apart their tactical flaws is utterly lethal. He forces these stubborn kids to stare their own weaknesses right in the face and start rebuilding from the rubble.

An Aggressive Omega Character Setup

What impressed me the most is how the author broke Jiang Shaowu out of the typical cliché mold. Even though he's an Omega, he boasts a powerful, overwhelmingly dominant pheromone that easily rivals a true god of war.

His rare pheromone disorder means he never bows down to Alphas; if anything, he makes them tremble! His confidence and absolute leadership presence shatter every single stereotype about physical and biological limits in this world.

He is a sniper of pinpoint precision, someone who stays shockingly calm in high-pressure moments. His smarts and sharp game sense let him instantly spot the flaws in both his opponents and his own teammates.

Steel Tactics and a Colorful Roster

Jiang Shaowu's training process isn't just about polishing individual skills, but also about stitching together broken pieces. Figures like Xiao Chen, Zhou Yiran, or Mo Hantian all bring their own distinct and rebellious personalities to the table.

Every single member of the national team gets tailored training designed to strike right at their mindset and strengths. The presence of manager Yu Mingxiang also helps smooth over the tense atmosphere in a squad packed with bickering Alphas.

Readers get to watch players like Shi Xiaobin or Qin Xueyao grow dramatically under their master's guidance. The way they pull off team plays in the game Gun King feels insanely epic and thrilling to follow.

A Crafty and Trusty Master-Disciple Romance

If Jiang Shaowu is a block of ice, then Pei Feng is the steady flame burning nearby to keep him warm. As his prized disciple and a top-tier shooter nicknamed Fred, he always knows just how to coax his master.

Their romance doesn't rush; instead, it develops subtly through shared glances and mutual understanding on the battlefield. Pei Feng serves as both a rock-solid rear guard and the only person brave enough to 'poke the tiger' just to take care of an overly workaholic coach.

The cunning charm of a capable Alpha combined with the strict seriousness of the master makes for some hilariously awkward yet funny situations. Their feelings may build up slowly, but they're incredibly solid and deeply committed to their shared goals.

Rock-Solid eSports Expertise

The author demonstrates a deep understanding of the FPS genre through the matches in Gun King. Technical jargon and tactical thinking are woven in seamlessly without ever feeling dry or confusing.

The high-stakes showdowns between the national team of China and formidable international rivals like Liu Shaozhou's side are intensely dramatic. Every move and flick shot feels so real you'd swear you were watching a live match.

Blending gaming mechanics with the biological quirks of the ABO dynamic delivers a fresh reading experience. Balancing everyday urban life with the pressure of the international stage keeps the plot consistently engaging.
