A Mission to Protect Forgotten Souls

Lu Deng enters the world of stories in a unique role: a rescue worker for the system. His mission isn't to dominate or rule, but rather to enforce the Cannon Fodder Rights Protection Law to save characters destined for tragic fates.

Every world he visits is a new life where those originally treated as disposable pawns—the cannon fodder—finally find their light. The author's storytelling focuses on healing trauma, turning preordained tragedies into heartwarming chapters full of hope.

Instead of brutal revenge, Lu Deng's approach is rooted in genuine understanding and protection. This brings a very distinct flavor to the world hopping genre, making the ultimate goal the happiness of those the world had cast aside.

The Captivating Contrast of the Main Duo

Lu Deng, also known as Lu Zhiguang, is the shining star of the novel. On the surface, he possesses an innocent and gentle aura that naturally triggers a protective instinct in others, but underneath lies a sharp and brilliant mind.

He possesses an incredibly keen intuition, allowing him to identify danger and flip the script in spectacular fashion. The combination of his "harmless" appearance and his powerful ability to intervene creates an irresistible charm that keeps readers curious about his next move.

Opposite him is Gu Yuan, a man who consistently appears as someone misunderstood or mistreated in the initial worlds. Their bond isn't just a typical romance; it's a resonance of two souls where Lu Deng willingly serves as Gu Yuan's shield.

Mechanics and the Role of the Companion

The story skillfully weaves in science fiction elements through the operations of the system. This isn't just a cold tool for delivering quests, but a humane friend and companion that provides Lu Deng with maximum support during tight spots.

By crafting new identities in each world, the system allows the protagonist to intervene deeply without breaking the logic of the setting. The interactions between him and this entity often lead to hilarious situations, helping to lighten the more tense segments of the plot.

While there are no complex cultivation realms to climb, progression in the story is measured by the depth of their bond and their ability to change fate. Readers get to experience a deeply human journey where the greatest power is compassion and tolerance.

Highlights and Nuanced World-Building

• A smart protagonist with an independent personality who doesn't rely solely on external powers.
• The romantic relationship between Lu Deng and Gu Yuan is built steadily and sweetly across various worlds.
• Graceful romantic comedy beats are sprinkled throughout, balancing out the initial tragic backstories of the supporting characters.
• A strong emphasis on psychological healing, leaving readers feeling relaxed and positive after every chapter.

A Few Drawbacks to Consider

Despite the very comfortable reading experience, there are certain downsides that veteran readers might notice. The repetition of the "rescue and fall in love" motif across many worlds can sometimes make the plot feel repetitive, causing the element of surprise to fade in the later stages.

Additionally, because the focus is so heavily on sweetness and protection, some conflicts are resolved quite quickly. Those expecting high-stakes mind games or bloody, dramatic twists might find the narrative pace a bit too gentle for their liking.

That said, this remains a danmei novel well worth reading if you're looking for a peaceful sanctuary for your soul. The consistent characterization keeps the audience engaged even when the pacing slows down to build emotional depth.

Final Thoughts on Protecting the Cannon Fodders

This work by Tam Thiên Đại Mộng Tự Bình Sinh is truly an emotional feast for fans of the 'pampering' trope. Lu Deng's persistence in shielding Gu Yuan is a testament to a love that transcends the barriers of space and time.

Whether the backdrop is science fiction or other fantasy settings, the core value of the story remains kindness. It’s the perfect novel to savor on a weekend, helping you rediscover faith in goodness and the warmth of human connection.

In short: A sweet and humane world hopping journey, perfect for anyone seeking healing through a smart protagonist’s mission to protect his beloved.
