The Last-Chance Ticket of a Former movie king
Our protagonist, Chen You, is a former movie king with a tragicomic fate. In his past life, he famously bombed an audition and missed out on a major role simply because he could not shed a single tear on cue.
After biting the dust out of nowhere, he gets a second lease on life by binding with System 444. Thus begins his hilarious and chaotic quick transmigration adventure.
An Unconventional Way to Clear Quests
His core mission is to harvest malice value from the male lead or rewrite the tragic fates of his host bodies. Unlike your typical powerhouse protagonist, he is neither a scheming mastermind nor a flawless saint.
Instead, his quirky and sometimes awkward personality will make you cringe on his behalf. Yet, whenever the situation calls for it, he can suddenly unlock the ultimate cheat code: crying instantly on command to save his skin.
Dynamic Duos and Chaotic Worlds
His ride-or-die companion throughout this journey is System 444. Together, they form a bickering, comedic duo that serves up endless giggles for the readers.
The worlds he visits are packed with the most ridiculous predicaments. He goes from possessing an ugly duckling neglected by his parents to facing his own crippling fear of water.
A Sweet and Possessive Romance
In every single world, he crosses paths with the male lead—who is actually a soul fragment of Li Yan. No matter the universe, his lover is consistently possessive and obsessively devoted.
Their Danmei romance is both heartwarming and hilariously unhinged, especially since he has zero shame in calling his lover Daddy in rather "specific" situations. This dynamic keeps the overarching plot tightly bound together.
Why You Should Dive In
- A refreshing protagonist who is totally down-to-earth, with no galaxy-brain schemes or annoying perfection.
- The hilarious double-act between Chen You and System 444 offers top-tier entertainment.
- A romance with Li Yan that perfectly balances intense obsession and sugary sweetness.
- A storyline that masterfully blends laugh-out-loud humor with surprisingly poignant emotional beats.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
- The malice value grinding formula can feel a bit repetitive in certain arcs.
- The male lead's occasional boundary-crossing behaviors might rub some readers the wrong way.
- There are some melancholy undertones, so don't expect a 100% pure comedy ride.
