World-Building Vibes

The setting revolves around a weird world packed with terrifying, bizarre rules. Here, cultivation is no walk in the park; it's constantly shadowed by lurk-in-the-dark perils. Every single power upgrade demands a horrifying, cruel price.

The absolute highlight is the MC's cheat that lets him do adding points to upgrade. This mechanic is special because it completely allows him to exempt every price attached! Combining a sleek system with a grim atmosphere makes for a super fun contrast.

The author fleshed out the world's underlying rules with impressive detail and consistency. Secret factions and mysterious lore surrounding strange herbs constantly spark your curiosity, keeping you hooked on a non-stop ride of unraveling secrets.

Survival Journey

Just as he hits rock bottom in the medicinal herb garden, our MC gets lucky and is saved by a bailiff. The plot immediately pivots into a high-stakes race for survival across a dangerous world, where every single move requires shrewd calculations to adapt.

His savior doesn't just grant him a lifeline; he also paves the way to a brand-new martial arts system. The pace ramps up fast with non-stop intense showdowns along the way, keeping you glued to the screen as the MC makes bold, decisive moves.

The MC's growth through trial after trial feels super natural and satisfying. No cheap unearned powerups here—every victory is hard-won through wits and sheer hustle, building a deep emotional connection with readers.

Why You'll Love It

• Super unique premise turning the MC into a humanoid medicinal herb stuck in someone else's medicinal herb garden.
• The adding points mechanic that grants price exemption is logically designed, delivering top-tier satisfaction while dodging cliché leveling up tropes.
• Fast, punchy pacing that nails a creepy, tense strange mystery atmosphere.
• The survival arc after being saved by the bailiff is super tight and packed with thrilling plot twists.
• Author Thư Dạ's crisp writing style stays laser-focused on action, keeping you hooked from start to finish.

Keep In Mind

• The pacing gets a bit too fast in certain spots, making it hard to fully digest the depth of the world and its weird lore.
• Side characters are somewhat flat, mostly acting as backdrops for the MC's cultivation journey.
• The leveling up process via adding points can feel a bit too easy at times, slightly taking away from the high-stakes tension of life-and-death fights.
• Some strange mystery rules later on feel a bit repetitive, losing a touch of freshness.

Who Is This For?

Fans of horror-tinged fantasy will definitely eat up this creative world-building. Sharp writing combined with the satisfying adding points system makes it super easy to binge. However, if you prefer slow-burn cultivation with a calm MC, the fast-paced rhythm might feel a bit rushed.

On the flip side, if you want a fast, gratifying webnovel fix, this hits the spot! Blending grim survival with an adding points cheat delivers an irresistible flavor. It is truly a breath of fresh air among generic webnovels.

Final Verdict

Even with a few minor flaws regarding side character depth, this novel definitely deserves a spot on your reading list. The creative concept of zero-cost price exemption is the secret sauce behind its irresistible charm.
