An Ill-Fated Beginning
The protagonist, Victoria, affectionately known as Ria, awakens to find herself reincarnated as a villainess in an Otome game. She quickly realizes that almost every future path laid out before her leads to a gruesome death route.
Determined to escape this tragic fate, she takes matters into her own hands to rewrite her future. Her primary goal is to somehow annul her engagement and secure her survival.
The Mechanics of spirit Magic
In this world, forming a contract with a spirit is an exceptionally rare and difficult feat. These spirits are entities of immense power, capable of cultivating vast farmlands or turning barren deserts into lakes.
Fortunately, Victoria befriended and signed a contract with Hughley, a green spirit, during her childhood. This bond grants her incredible power and elevates her status, ensuring she cannot be easily manipulated.
The respect accorded to a contractor is absolute in this world. Should a contractor be threatened or coerced, the spirits would be enraged, leading to the downfall of an entire nation.
A Warm Family Support System
Unlike the typical villainess trope where the protagonist is neglected by her family, Victoria is showered with love and pampering by her parents and siblings. The Duke's household serves as her ultimate sanctuary.
Her father, a remarkably handsome Duke with blonde hair and green eyes, leads a family whose genuine affection creates a heartwarming atmosphere, ensuring the heroine is never without support.
As for Victoria herself, she is quite easygoing, though occasionally oblivious. Despite the story's reverse harem tag, she has zero interest in romance and actively keeps her suitors at arm's length.
Pacing and Pitfalls
While the premise is engaging, the narrative pacing sometimes lacks tension. The protagonist's passive and oblivious nature can make any potential political intrigue or mind games feel rather flat.
Furthermore, her constant dodging of romantic advances leads to some repetitive scenarios, which might frustrate readers looking for a fast-developing romance.
