A Unique Beginning
An ancient yet ever-evolving immortal way world is always fertile ground for cultivating immortality writers to plow. This work by author Bất Phóng Tâm Du Điều brings a breath of fresh air thanks to an incredibly quirky approach.
Following the standard transmigration trope, our protagonist starts his journey with a bizarre gaming skill called corpse touching tucked into his belt. Thanks to this ability to loot the deceased, he easily hoards rare secret skills, pills, and heavenly treasures.
This reckless path thrusts him into endless danger in a deceitful world, where schemes lurk around every corner and only the quick-witted survive.
A Crafty Protagonist
The male lead, Qin Yang (courtesy name Youde), is far from your typical righteous hero or bloodthirsty overlord. He possesses a crafty and humorous personality, never hesitant to resort to 'shameless' tricks to save his skin.
Yet, behind that slightly sketchy exterior lies a soul that deeply respects karma and loves sowing seeds of goodwill. He is fiercely loyal, always acting on his own core moral code.
The companionship of his lover, Jiayi, and his tight-knit circle of friends like Chouji, Heiying, and Zhang Wei creates dynamic relationships that yield endless witty banter.
Cultivation System
Despite its comedic tone, the novel still delivers a well-developed power system with its own creative twists. Cultivators start in the Divine Sea Realm, studying secret manuals to open their Qi Sea, Blood Sea, and Divine Sea to break the limits of dharma power.
Upon reaching the Divine Gate Realm, characters must condense the White Jade Divine Gate and Black Jade Divine Gate as their foundation. They then construct a massive Waste Void Taoist Palace within the Taoist Palace Realm before ascending to higher levels.
The most impressive phase is the Dharma Idol Realm, where cultivators embrace the demonic path and use the Twelve Demon Swords to sever their memories. After experiencing death and rebuilding their cultivation, they refine their Golden Core using the carcass of an Innate Insect to ascend to the Dharma Body - Taoist Lord stage with overwhelming power.
