The Perfect Quick Read for Busy Days

If you are drowning in work and just want a super short read to decompress, this is the absolute perfect choice. This novel is incredibly bite-sized, making it easy to enjoy the entire storyline without committing to a massive time sink.

Despite its brief length, the author masterfully paints a vivid and captivating fantasy ancient era. You'll be instantly sucked into a world of mythical creatures and unexpected throne-usurping schemes.

A Hilarious Quest for the Throne

The story kicks off with a hilarious situation where an infatuated emperor brings a fox demon back to court to pamper her, completely ignoring his ministers' protests. The arrival of the adorable little fox, who gets appointed as the crown prince, completely flips the solemn imperial court upside down.

After the fox demon mother is forced to flee due to a Heavenly Tribulation, the little fox is left wandering the mortal realm and gets raised by an old eunuch. Watching him grow up and plot his return to the palace to overthrow the throne brings tons of laugh-out-loud moments.

An Irresistibly Charming Dynamic

The absolute best highlight is the sweet dynamic between the naive little fox and the succeeding young emperor. The fox's ability of shapeshifting into a gorgeous youth makes his palace-usurping plot truly one of a kind.

A cold, strict young emperor dealing with a pure yet cheeky little fox leads to interactions that are both hilarious and heartwarming. The natural slow-burn romance between them is the perfect hook to keep you turning the pages.

Highlights Worth Mentioning

Despite being extremely short, this story still shines with fantastic elements that elevate the reading experience. Here are the biggest pros you can't miss when diving into this book:

• The witty and humorous writing style takes away all the heavy tension of the imperial power struggle setting.
• The little fox is written beautifully—incredibly adorable and naive, yet remarkably cheeky and clever.
• Fast-paced and snappy, without any exhausting filler or dragged-out chapters.
• A seamless blend of Xianxia fantasy and romance that offers absolute relaxation.

A Few Minor Letdowns

Despite its strong points, the story still has a few drawbacks due to its ultra-short length. You might find yourself wanting more in these areas:

• Its brevity means many aspects of the Xianxia world aren't explored deeply or in detail.
• Supporting characters like the old eunuch and the fox demon mother don't get enough screen time to fully show their potential.
• The ending feels a bit rushed, which might disappoint readers who crave drama and climax.
