An Unconventional cultivation System

The story kicks off with a devastating tragedy as Lin Xuan's family is completely wiped out by a powerful sect. As the sole survivor, he carries the heavy burden of vengeance alongside a shocking bodily secret.

The most unique aspect of the novel is his Deep Desire Body. Instead of absorbing spiritual energy like ordinary cultivators, he must rely on absorbing desire to advance his cultivation.

This mechanic makes his path of progression truly one-of-a-kind in the xuanhuan genre. It forces him to engage deeply with the world around him, particularly through the most intense human emotions.

Protagonist and Character Development

Lin Xuan starts out as an ordinary young man, but adversity tempers him into a decisive and cunning individual. The nature of his unique cultivation method occasionally makes him appear utterly shameless in the eyes of outsiders.

Yet beneath that exterior lies a man deeply committed to protecting his loved ones. He never allows himself to be consumed by the very power he wields on his quest for the truth.

His psychological growth is closely tied to each stage of his power, tracing his journey from a weakling to a powerhouse. He doesn't just fight with brute force but also employs sophisticated strategies to overcome traps.

Power System and Ranks

The world operates on a strict power scale with clear-cut levels. Lin Xuan begins his journey with the arduous first steps of a Martial Apprentice.

His journey spans realms like Martial Master, Martial King, and Martial Venerable. Each rank marks a massive leap in both raw strength and his understanding of the vast hidden world.

The tension peaks as he approaches higher thresholds like Martial Saint and Martial God. The ultimate destinations of True God and Dao Lord constantly drive him forward.

The Female Leads and Complex Relationships

The harem element is tightly woven into the main plot through the manifestations of desire. Every woman who crosses his path, such as Xiao Ru or Lin Miaomiao, brings her own unique flavor to the story.

His bonds with Xue Wushuang and Xia Qingyuan provide him with crucial support. They are not merely lovers but dependable allies who stand by him against dangerous enemies.

Furthermore, the arrivals of Gu Qingcheng, Meng Fanling, and Ye Qingwu add depth to the romantic subplots. Managing these relationships requires a fair amount of tact on his part.

Strengths of the Novel

Weaknesses to Consider

• Due to the unique nature of his cultivation method, the novel features several mature scenes that might not appeal to all readers.
• The large cast of female characters occasionally dilutes the focus on the main plot at certain points.
• Some of the protagonist's opponents are written rather one-dimensionally, serving primarily as stepping stones for his own bursts of power.
