An Involuntary Pioneering Adventure
Yu Ci was originally a pampered junior college student who suddenly got flung into a remote, desolate wasteland through a sudden transmigration event. Before he could even catch his breath, a bizarre strange bird appeared and threatened him, forcing him to transform this barren place into a thriving farm.
Watching a pampered boy who’s only ever held a pen suddenly forced to get down and dirty tilling soil and growing vegetables is incredibly charming and hilarious. His initial helplessness slowly turns into a fierce determination to survive, kicking off a reluctant yet absolutely vibrant and energetic farming journey.
A Weather Machine Powered by romance
The magical turning point comes when Yu Ci stumbles upon a pearly white egg and witnesses Qi Huai hatch from it. This gorgeous hunk isn't just drop-dead gorgeous—he also possesses the mind-blowing ability to control the weather entirely based on his mood.
Quick to realize the value of this living weather control machine, Yu Ci immediately resorts to his sly tricks to pamper him for the sake of his crops. His acts of fake-spoiling his partner to summon sunshine or call down rain lead to countless highly entertaining and laugh-out-loud situations.
Character Growth on Both Sides
Once a weak and passive young man, Yu Ci is forced to channel his inner diligence and a bit of cunning into farming and raising livestock. This transformation happens step-by-step, making it feel incredibly realistic and relatable for the readers.
On the flip side, the innocent Qi Huai eventually uncovers the true intentions behind Yu Ci's sweet talk. Instead of tearing them apart, this realization actually bonds them even closer, turning them into an absolutely charming and perfect match.
How It Compares to Others in the Genre
Compared to traditional farming novels that often fall into the repetitive routine of stockpiling grain, this work breaks the mold with its fantastical elements. The sheer novelty of hatching a gorgeous man from an egg is a breath of fresh air.
The development of the romance plotline also successfully avoids common clichés. Yu Ci's petty calculations paired with his partner's unique weather powers ensure that every single chapter is packed with lighthearted laughs and delightful surprises.
Impressive Highlights
- The bright and cozy farm building details offer readers pure relaxation.
- Qi Huai's unique character concept, featuring the ability to alter the weather based on his emotions, leads to plenty of unexpected situations.
- Our protagonist Yu Ci's clever wit and sly tricks keep the plot dynamic, preventing it from feeling boring or cookie-cutter.
- The natural pacing of the romance progression, which starts with hilarious manipulation and evolves into deep sincerity.
A Few Minor Drawbacks
- The early pacing focuses heavily on the details of reclaiming land and planting crops, which might feel a bit slow for readers craving high-stakes action.
- The threat of the initial strange bird isn't deeply explored, serving mostly as a starting motivation.
- The setting revolves almost entirely around the wasteland, so the supporting cast is not particularly diverse.
Reader's Verdict
Fans of the farming novel genre blended with hilarious Danmei will absolutely fall in love with the novel's warm atmosphere and creativity. However, those looking for life-or-death struggles or intense battle of wits might find the plot a bit too low-stakes.
A Delightful farming novel Worth Savoring
Overall, this novel is a lighthearted and sweet adventure, perfect for unwinding after a stressful day. The cozy journey of turning a barren wasteland into a lush farming paradise will surely capture any reader's heart.
Bottom Line: This is an incredibly charming farming novel that perfectly blends agricultural elements with a sweet, hilarious love story.
