Unraveling Criminal psychology

This book hooks you right from the first few pages with a series of incredibly complex and creepy criminal cases. The pacing is relentless as the characters constantly dive into the darkest corners of human nature. The brutal investigation backdrop keeps putting the cast through nail-biting trials.

Utilizing sharp criminal psychological analysis, every case is way more than just catching the bad guy. It's a deep dive into dissecting layers of trauma and the twisted, hidden motives in the offender's mind. The perfect blend of detective work and psychology makes the atmosphere insanely tense.

The Captain's Past Trauma

Leading the special task force, Cheng Jin totally wins you over with his sharp intellect and insane observational skills. He’s the ultimate resilient investigator, keeping his cool and staying completely professional even when tackling mind-bending cases. His natural leadership earns him everyone's absolute trust.

But behind that calm exterior lies the unbearable pain of loss from his teenage years. A horrific plane crash at age 14 took his parents' lives, followed shortly by his grandfather passing away from sheer shock. Carrying this tragedy, he constantly forces himself to act normal to hide the deep emotional scars.

A Mysterious and Emotional Piece of the Puzzle

Partnering up with the captain is Yang Simi, a mysterious guy who's brilliant but lives with antisocial personality disorder. Growing up without parental care because they were murdered by an enemy, he deals with an emotional deficit and a violent past. He brings a super unique vibe to the story.

The bond between Cheng Jin and Yang Simi goes way back to a chaotic childhood. Reunited in the special task force, their deep understanding and danmei connection grow stronger through every life-and-death ordeal. They quickly become each other's irreplaceable emotional anchor.

Power of Teamwork

Rather than just focusing on the main duo, the story brilliantly highlights the entire squad. The supporting cast—including Bu Huan, Han Bin, An Xiaoyan, You Duo, and Ye Lai—forms a perfectly synchronized team. Their warm dynamic adds some much-needed heart to the dark plot.

Each member brings their own unique expertise to the table, helping the captain gather evidence and track down killers. This unwavering support creates a highly professional and reliable workspace, keeping the story's pacing perfectly balanced from case to case.
